Price, on paper the most difficult obstacle to Littler getting to the semis, has been dumped out...
Barney/Williams and then probably Gando stand between Rafferty and a card

People creaming themselves over the prospect of Barney v Littler, fuck that. Gando v Littler is the real deal.

(Should the preferred option of Jimbob v Brenda fall through, of course.)

For the first time since he mastered Bates, Lennon is favourite for the chop. I would say he's unlucky to be in this position the one year that the best talent since MvG emerged, but if you fail to make the Worlds one year and then hit 6/40 on the doubles against a terrible Jonny Clayton you can only blame yourself

Has anyone since Cristo Reyes managed to get into the top 64 exclusively (or almost exclusively in Littler's case as he did earn £2.5k at the UK Open) off the back of performances in the Worlds?

IIRC, Reyes' run earned him the princely sum of £18k, how times change...

I wouldn't have thought so but a shout out for Raymond Smith got within one set of a quarter-final 2 years ago.

Beyond the waste of skin keeping his card for eons more entirely due to his 2018 run no. If the card system existed in 2010, Intl qualifier Simon Shitlock would have been in an interesting position.

Jamie Lewis jumped into the top 32 as a result of that run, but if I remember correctly, he wasn't that bad the next year and would have made the Worlds via the ProTour the next season, it was only 2019 where he really started to struggle, 2020 he averaged 57 on the Euro Tour before rebounding to an extent where he made the Worlds via the PDPA. Don't hate the kid, but I was cursing him when he missed a big number to potentially stop 'Gezzy's' title run in its tracks...

I don't think Raymond would have taken the card, but he was leading for most of that game, 64th placed Max Hopp, who was doing comms for German TV, must have been cacking himself! Sadly for Maxwell, it was only a matter of time before he fell off the tour though

Speaking of Aussies and potential tour card losses, Nicho commentated on Humphries beating Dimitri on the radio 4 years ago in a game which saw Humphries fly into the top 64, booting Nicho off tour for good...

Maybe I should like Puke more, if he was responsible for getting rid of Nicholson

Littler might be about to receive 2 years' supply of kebabs from an anonymous address in County Tyrone...
