A soulless meaningless exhibition contest but the only leg i watched which was the last one was entertaining enough i suppose.

Back to Bret now, vs his brother Owen at wm 10.

great match. I was there at Wembley for Summerslam 92, was only 10 years old, very memorable. Littler fell over the line at least
Bret vs bulldog was a beautiful match, being there live must have been orgasmic.
Have to say can't understand why people enjoy watching wrestling. Completely orchestrated and if it was considered a genuine sport the participants would be banned for fixing. Have never checked, but do the bookies ever offer odds on any contest?

Edit: Just checked and amazingly they do. 1/25 odds on one of the wrestlers in the wwe championship.
Just like a film, a play or a TV show. A form of entertainment, a story about good vs evil.
I get that, but are there genuinely people out there who think the results are not predetermined.

You wouldn’t think so in 2024 but you never know, stupidity knows no bounds.

It's an athletic soap opera with elemnts of theatre, ridiculous athleticism at times ( as opposed to when I was growing up when it was fat men with jobs hamming it up on a weekend). At pro level they are finely tuned athletes, extremely skillful and practiced. It can still be fun unless you just go in with a poor attitude deterined not to enjoy it. Actually it's better now as the storylines tend to be more based on realism and real life clashes and beefs, and the athleticism on show now is in another stratosphere to the overwhelming majority of the wrestlers I grew up with. I watch it for when things go wrong, athlticism and it's escapism like other forms of entertainment. There are lots of different types of wrestling too, ranging from death match gimmicks to flips and flops, to proper amateur style technical wrestling where they reverse holds and mat wrestle, it's actually a variety show too

I prefer the version where they grease themselves up in olive oil first. Forget the name.

His famous bout with Cena has aged nicely.
