I think the first VFL match I attended did not involve my team.
I remember going to the MCG with some family friends who supported Richmond and maybe my brother. It was a rainy day and we sat in the old Southern Stand and it was mostly empty.
It was probably 1986/7 and I have no memory of the game or who Richmond played at all.

Darlington 5-1 Cheltenham. We won the league the week after and I thought it would be all joy and silverware for life. How wrong could I be?

Annoyingly can’t remember. Used to go to West Ham games kids for a quid in the early 2000s, it’s one of West Ham v Charlton, West Brom or Nottingham Forest.
I remember West Ham having some quality youngsters at the time but they were shit overall
