Randall was carrying me around on his shoulders. Great fun until it started to rain and he had to change his shoes and oh, we were a mess if I'm honest.
Thought F1 numbers improved after Liberty Media took over and Drive to Survive?IndyCarDavid wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 3:23 pm F1 isn't doing the best at the moment. IndyCar seems pretty bad for viewer interest too. Formula E still largely ignored, and Japanese Super Formula not visible too much.
Touring cars also seem to be on the decline too.
The only series that seems to be growing is sportscars in WEC and IMSA and ELMS.
Yeah they did for a while. Think DTS is down quite a bit this time. I've never watched it.The Thorn wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:14 pmThought F1 numbers improved after Liberty Media took over and Drive to Survive?IndyCarDavid wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 3:23 pm F1 isn't doing the best at the moment. Up until 2022.The Thorn wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:14 pmThought F1 numbers improved after Liberty Media took over and Drive to Survive?IndyCarDavid wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 3:23 pm F1 isn't doing the best at the moment. That would be interesting, I thought Vettel was done with F1 and going to sportscars for Le Mans.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 1:47 am Will be interesting to see how the whole Vettel saga plays out, I heard that because of the new regulations in 2026 he wanted to be a part of it and back driving again but heard from someone else that he would happily accept any seat on the grid for next season on a one year deal as long as it was on his terms.
Red Bull have to keep Verstappen if they want to control the driver market and then its down to the performances of Perez as to him keeping or losing his seat, Should his seat become available then I could see Vettel making a return to the Red Bull team, However I think given Vettel has always looked at new opportunities instead of going back to teams and also from something I heard...He could well end up in a Williams in 2025.
Newey is gone, Its been announced he will be leaving early next year, Talk is that Mercedes are looking at making a massive offer for Verstappen and I seen something that said it was in the ballpark of triple of Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari deal.IndyCarDavid wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 1:05 pmThat would be interesting, I thought Vettel was done with F1 and going to sportscars for Le Mans.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 1:47 am Will be interesting to see how the whole Vettel saga plays out, I heard that because of the new regulations in 2026 he wanted to be a part of it and back driving again but heard from someone else that he would happily accept any seat on the grid for next season on a one year deal as long as it was on his terms.

Can't really see Verstappen leaving, there's been rumours of Adrian Newey leaving (even today), If the car designer leaves maybe he goes too though. Not many drivers give up on a dominant car.
Things must be really toxic at Red Bull for Newey to leave. Wonder if Red Bull are going to have a form collapse in the next couple of years.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 6:29 pmNewey is gone, Its been announced he will be leaving early next year, Talk is that Mercedes are looking at making a massive offer for Verstappen and I seen something that said it was in the ballpark of triple of Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari deal.IndyCarDavid wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 1:05 pmThat would be interesting, I thought Vettel was done with F1 and going to sportscars for Le Mans.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 1:47 am Will be interesting to see how the whole Vettel saga plays out, I heard that because of the new regulations in 2026 he wanted to be a part of it and back driving again but heard from someone else that he would happily accept any seat on the grid for next season on a one year deal as long as it was on his terms.

Nothing more on Vettel except that he will be driving Senna's McLaren MP4/8 in tribute to icon at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix weekend.
