Also, your personal preferences to a large extent.

We could more than likely pick 4 squads of 15 who would have an amazing series of games.

Sobers was superb with the bat but this team wouldn't need a batting all rounder

You'd have him as a batter and fielder - plus he had a fluidity about him. That's the difference between him and Kallis in some ways. Similar stats but Kallis was brute force, whereas Sobers was an art form at times.

Can he get in an all time top 5?
I've a suspicion he averages more than everyone we've considered other than bradman

Very good case for Imran Khan. I cannot agree on Sachin. Probably the most naturally talented cricketer to play the game.
Sachin, as I said, just never did it for me - I know it's against the grain of the majority. I'm a bowler so that's where my heart lies, sod batsmen! Give me Ambrose, Marshall, Steyn, Akram, Holding, McGrath, Dev, Khan, Lillee, Thompson, Bumrah, Cummings, Bond, Afridi and so on. We overlook Rabada who has almost 300 wickets at just over 22.
I was a bowler too. Dale Steyn could be knocking at the door for an all time 11 The best fast bowler of the last 20 years for me.

Averages 58. 26 tons from 93 tests. He's up there.

Steyn is a definite shout. Bio-mechanically, his action was up there. I rate Cummings highly of the current crop.
