Money wise it's a tough sell but many people would still go for the chance of qualifying for a major. Don't think the qualifiers would be more random than the UK ones. Ideally you would want to play some other tournaments while over there, get in a week of ModusTheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 6:26 pm Honestly I understand the concern over Riley’s but yet again they hosted this year and a good bunch of players qualified, the system still works albeit not ideal. I’d be open to international qualifiers if you increased the field.
Though tbh the financial rewards in the early rounds of the UK Open are so small that I can’t see it being worth it for anyone international

Yes Thorn because players can just decide that they want to play a week of Modus and take the gtd £1250 without qualifying for it or being invitedThe Thorn wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 6:54 pmMoney wise it's a tough sell but many people would still go for the chance of qualifying for a major. Darts players are passionate and nuts though, and would maybe frame it as a small holiday or whatever. Many are willing to travel for no guarantees if the occasion appeals, as I'm sure we'll see at the WDF Masters later this year.TheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 6:26 pm Honestly I understand the concern over Riley’s but yet again they hosted this year and a good bunch of players qualified, the system still works albeit not ideal. This is about 5 months away.
The Rileys qualifier dates are typically announced in January. There have been murmurs of change... we'll have to wait and see.
Thank you for reading.

I'm sure that players' management companies and Modus talk to figure out invites for players that are coming over.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 7:17 pmYes Thorn because players can just decide that they want to play a week of Modus and take the gtd £1250 without qualifying for it or being invitedThe Thorn wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 6:54 pmMoney wise it's a tough sell but many people would still go for the chance of qualifying for a major. I remember when Modus had a rush of WDF Worlds players a couple of weeks before the event. I don't think it was a coincidence.

Because of the qualifiers via ADC and players that are guaranteed return weeks/sessions etc it is not a case of 'Oh I want to play a week at Modus simply because I am in the country'1205 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 5:50 pmI'm sure that players' management companies and Modus talk to figure out invites for players that are coming over.daveboygreen wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 7:17 pmYes Thorn because players can just decide that they want to play a week of Modus and take the gtd £1250 without qualifying for it or being invitedThe Thorn wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 6:54 pmMoney wise it's a tough sell but many people would still go for the chance of qualifying for a major. Fair enough if agreements are made before travelling but Thorn talking shite as per usual was making it sound like players can simply choose to have a week of Modus darts.

100% but this isn't going to happen but ADC are more interested in providing players to Modus
