Malanax wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 11:34 pm spotted woodhouse's wife defending him in some comment section on facebook earlier, seems daft for any of them to engage with the idiots so much, just enjoy your life without trawling social media, rydz definitely needs to get rid of his or make it private hes complained for ages about abuse after matches
He has every right to if he is getting abuse thrown at him, Nobody should have to quit social media because a few idiots kick off at them but I agree that those getting the abuse hurled at them shouldn't engage with those doing so.

Personally, If I was playing at that level then I wouldn't open myself up to thousands of followers I personally did not know for some to be freely allowed to hurl abuse at me, In some way players sponsors have to be accountable as they rely on players using social media etc.
They need proper advice on how to use social media from the PDC. It's effecting their mental health. So needs to be addressed quicky. I guarantee it won't be addressed though.
And managers are not equipped either.
My advice to any player would be to have separate social media accounts for their personal life and profession, Let their manager/sponsor or even partner manage the professional social media and keep it away from their personal social media/life, Also not to use or view social media before or during tournaments.
Sound advice.

You couldn't be more wrong. They haven't lost on purpose and if people lose bets, they shouldn't message the players. What the fuck is wrong with people
What am I wrong about? Obviously people who lose bets and message players are complete morons, all players receive that abuse, clearly it affects them 3 a lot more than most as they seem to react more vocally about it. I think if you’re a big name in a sport these days the most sensible option is to do what MVG does and just have someone manage your socials for you so you don’t tempt yourself into reading negative shite.

FYI Dfc the “have done it previously” was in reference to commenting openly about social media abuse, not that they’d been abusive themselves

If you were a half competent player then why on earth would you look at your socials? I know for a fact that Fallon never looked at hers even when she was half decent. There is no good that can come of it whatsoever.
