Monday 2nd October 1995.

A feature with Gary Olsen, star of sitcom 2 Point 4 Children which begins its 5th series on this day. After which you will hop over to BBC2 for The X Files.

Gary Olsen died of cancer in 2000, age just 42, nine months after the final episode of 2 Point 4 Children had aired on 30/12/99. It's similar to the Dermot Morgan/Father Ted situation. Very sad.

That day's satellite listings too.

Monday Night Football on Sky Sports from the Dell.

4.30pm on Eurosport... Darts. 'Repeat World Championship highlights from Pilsen, Germany'. :? what is that then. I put it in the quiz thread.

Letters! This week in 1982, 1985 and 1986.

Some Doctor Who comments in 1986. The one about the theme music is correct. The latter day DW theme music was worthless.

These scenes were of such vivid intensity that I was unable to face my customary cup of Horlicks, with the result that I suffered acutely with night starvation, a disfunction that I fear that I may not recover in the foreseeable future

He is referring to 'The Mysterious Planet', the early episodes of The Trial of a Time Lord...

What an amazingly disturbing letter.

Remember the balloon?

Today in 1997 the BBC1 balloon ident was used for the first time, lasting until 2002.

October 3rd was a Friday in 1986 too.

Let's see that shit. 10:25pm on BBC1 has been circled in a fit of excitement...
