Re: World Senior Darts announces changes for 2025
They had to do something for which I think they deserve some credit, easy to double down and deny things aren't working, thats the essence of the WDF/BDO's whole management since about the mid 80s. From what I see the business plan of the seniors tour was based around the presence of Phil Taylor. However that fast became a problem as he was only really playing their main tv tournaments so he wasn't quite a face who could carry things week in and out and it also became evident very quickly he was nowhere near his previous levels so there wasn't going to be a question of him being so good should he go back to the PDC which would carry people's interest. They've got to do what they've got to do to survive. Opening things up for more tournament entries and for more players known to the average fan like VVdV to come now in isn't going to hurt them. They were probably fucked with the status quo and we will see if the changes are enough to carry them forward.

In response to the changes. Paul Holloway (Played at old Modus and a WSDT tour regular) is setting up a tour of sorts for the players but obviously keeping the dates free for all TV events that WSD will hold in 2025
It's gained interest. But obviously needs sponsorship and an end of season competition, May all be a bridge too far but fair play to them.

There is no Tour to speak of now. It's just a few qualifiers for the TV eventsTheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 11:18 amThat’s what Holloway said. But just cos they decreased it to 45 doesn’t mean over 50s can’t play. Or am I missing his point

Looks like a plodder on a jobber tour is bitter that hes going to be fucked even further down the pecking order because more has beens and never beens are about to arrive. Modern day Lee Cox IMO.oche balboa wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 9:49 am In response to the changes. Its amazing how darts has all these individuals and small groups pushing their own wee agenda and the begging bowl out to fund the fantasies. Bowling club committee stuff.
ETA: Why the fuck would anyone care about this bar his own little circle? Darts needs another "tour" like a hole in the head. This isn't 2010. You have the PDC gruel or if you're out of the 128 you've got Challenge Tour, WDF, Modus, ADC, independents, seniors, exbos etc. Make it make sense ffs.

Hard to disagree with the above. He also gave it large on a live stream match against Rob Singleton was a cracking watch with loads of needle that started in the bull up
