Re: The cheese thread
Texture like Edam so a little rubbery, Quite a strong taste and you can certainly taste the pesto in it, Might go well in some pasta dish but was nice enough on some salt and black pepper crackers, 6 out of 10.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 1:00 pmAny good ?daveboygreen wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 3:37 pm This will be different from the norm for me, Mrs bought some green pesto cheese today.
Cost wise, £14 for 250g which is on the expensive side for the place she got it from, I would probably opt for other cheeses from there over it so might be a while before we have any again.

Re: The cheese thread
It comes to something when you go into a supermarket, Look at the price of a block of cheese then realize you can buy a whole chicken for less.
The cost of cheese now is making it more of a luxury item.

Re: The cheese thread
It's not massively characterful so it's probably mostly a trick played on the export market. 5%.

Re: The cheese thread
To be honest I don't know. But the most popular cheese in NL is Gouda.
"The Dutch dairy industry processed approximately 14.1 billion kg of milk in 2022, almost 3% less than in 2021. More than half of this was used for cheese production. This decreased by 1% to a volume of 949 thousand tonnes (including quark). About 60% of this was Gouda cheese" ZuivelNL is the organisation of the Dutch dairy sector.
