I agree but to be fair the real "legends" of seniors like Lowe, Anderson, Taylor, Deller, Warriner who they started with are not here. These are pretty much just active players over 50, the standard is still decent.
+1

Apart from some names thrown in in the early rounds, the players are averaging in the 80s.
Stuff that darts fans will watch. The Seniors tour isn't trying to fill arenas.

Beaton to play next year.
Mervyn King likely to lose his card.
Whtlock will lose his card next year, or maybe even this year.
Osbourne and West turn 50 in June, O'Shea in July, Van der Voort Decermber 2025.

This year the PDC has 16 TC holders who are currently 50 or holder.

Its a seniors tour not a "Legends" tour

Has 1205 said there are some good players going to be eligible on the tour in the next couple of years and it will be good to see how the tour will progress when they do but players like Darren Webster, Richie Burnett don't play on the tour

Why did they invite 2 "Legends" for this then instead of using the OOM.

I personally think they just make it up as they go along.

They do. Mason hasn't played at all yet was hyped up as a contender, excuses were made on comms about him losing 4-0

Think it has been imperative in introducing a Seniors Tour to have known players to induce interest and credibility to the concept. As the Tour develops and becomes more competitive, the quality of the field and standard of the darts becomes the biggest factor.

Not unlike the Seniors Golf Tour which has become a serious sports tour and commercially viable tv entity in its own right.

Henderson and Thornton have contributed to the credibility of the Tour being a competitive one and as intimated in some of the previous posts, the like of Whitlock, Beaton and King potentially playing next year will do wonders. Who's to say that both Wright and Ando will not play in the Seniors over the coming years.

100%. Its going to take time, I think they are making some bad mistakes along the way. But its getting better, Seniors Golf is an excellent tour

+1 though I’d be amazed if Gando wanted too TBH. I’m looking forward to seeing Beaton on TV more next year.

Hogan pushing Hendo closer than most would have thought. Fair play to him.
