I also put ‘peak’ Wright that high. He is completely unplayable at some points, but I suppose all 6 of them have been like that at times

Depends really what time frame you put on a "peak"

Jose De Sousa in the PDC
I think it should be measured over at least a significant tournament, probably an entire season or year.

Did Wright sustain a peak long enough to be 3rd?
You could argue for hump at the back end of last year?

The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

PDPA list it as JDS's officially - https://pdpa.co.uk/averages/

Wright's peak and tournament averages during the 2021 Matchplay are not far off the numbers Taylor was doing in Blackpool in his 2009 and 2010 pomp - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_World_MatchplayRandall wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 11:59 amThe top 2 are largely unarguablesennafan24 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 11:38 amJose De Sousa in the PDC

Current Hump is not quite at the same level as peak Taylor or MVG, but I can imagine he's top 10 in terms of peak form.

I'd still argue Taylor in 00_02 was his peak

Taylor in 09 on 01 boards wouldn't have been any better imosennafan24 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 12:32 pm1. Agreed that the evolution of the Unicorn boards will flatter Wright's numbers somewhat compared to Taylor's.
2. Possibly.
Comparing people's averages today to the past is pointless so it's probably best judged on simply events won over a period.

Darts Orakel argues that the best version of Taylor since 2003 is right before losing the 2011 WC quarter-final against Mark Webster.Randall wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 12:36 pmTaylor in 09 on 01 boards wouldn't have been any better imosennafan24 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 12:32 pm1. Granted their calculations don't cover matches before that period, so they likely narrowly missed out on an even better version of Taylor.

Also this seems to suggest that Littler currently is already better than both peak Jackpot and peak Wade.
