RIP

A bit before my time but one of the best big men
Sid wasn't the best inside the ring, but he had an incredible look and bags of personality.

He could draw a huge pop from a crowd in pretty much every top US promotion from what I have seen.

The Nasty Boys' infamous 2007 try-out.

You can hear what I assume is a producer remark "useless shit" after they botch their finish.

They could have been hired as an undercard nostalgia act. Jim Duggan, Road Warrior Animal and Tatanka all played that role around that period.

But any chance of that vanished due to that performance :)

Pretty sure they only got into WCW because one of them or both of them are mates with Hogan

That was TNA.

They were already on the WCW roster when Hogan joined IIRC.

The Netflix docuseries on former WWE boss Vince McMahon has set its premiere date.

The series, titled “Mr. McMahon,” will debut on Sept. 25. It consists of six one-hour episodes. The official synopsis for the series states:

“‘Mr. McMahon’ chronicles the rise and fall of Vince McMahon, controversial businessman and co-founder of WWE. From his transformation of the WWE from a small, regional business into a global entertainment powerhouse to the explosive sexual misconduct allegations that led to his eventual resignation, this six-episode series offers a deep dive into McMahon’s life and his enduring franchise. Culled from over 200 hours of interviews with McMahon himself (prior to his resignation), his family members, business associates and some of the most iconic names in wrestling history, as well as the journalists who uncovered McMahon’s allegations — filmmaker Chris Smith (‘Tiger King’) and executive producer Bill Simmons (’30 for 30′) present an unflinching, no-holds-barred look at one of the most enigmatic figures in sports entertainment.”

Will be very interesting to see what direction it takes for the more recent parts of his life.

I'm concerned that the earlier episodes will allow a lot of Vince's BS to go unchecked. Years ago there was speculation that Vince exaggerates how poor he was growing up, overstates the possibility of WWF going completely bust in the mid-1980s, etc.

I do not suspect any of the talking heads or researchers involved will challenge those narratives.

Much like WWE under his tenure, everything for the doc will likely have to have been approved by Vince himself :)

Yeah, I will not be revisiting that :)

The main event of Judgement Day 06 is worth a watch.

Remember watching it coming back after school and was like WTF even back then

The RAW’s I’ve been watching leading up to it, Vince kept referring to Shane as the “product of his semen” (or something along those lines) and Joey Styles kept repeating it. Obviously at the behest of Vince.

If I remember, I’ll have it on in the background tomorrow morning

Didn't realise that was also the beginning of the very, very annoying “King Booker” gimmick

You know how I dislike Family Guy? I would rather watch a full season of Family Guy than listen to 5 minutes of Styles' commentary. Imo the most overrated wrestling personality I have come across.

Vince's on-screen character was often insane in the mid-2000s. Vince himself even proposed for either his or his son's character to be involved in an incest storyline with his daughter -https://www.sportskeeda.com/wwe/fact-fi ... on-brother. The death of Benoit and the switch to PG calmed him down thankfully.
